Facebook’s Open Graph protocol is interesting…and disturbing. It’s “open” in the sense that anyone can use it. It’s closed in the sense that it references only Facebook, requires a Facebook account, and Facebook will own all the inferences it can draw from the link graph. A Facebook controlled web makes a lot of sense from Mark Zuckerberg’s perspective, but not from mine.
